I learned this term from the Brothers Reid. Never heard of it, must have been a different time. According to them, it's the act of taking an object with the intent to break something with it and letting out a loud "Van Damme" shout (for example: WAAAAHHHHHH!!!) before breaking another object - as seen in the example above.
Casual does not want you to Van Damme things, this is just a informative post. Van-damming is a very serious matter. You Van-damme the wrong thing, you could end up like the van-damme below.
