We were very fortunate to work with Justin Hostynek on a shirt this Holiday line. He's a busy man, and for him to carve out a little time to help us out means a lot to us.
During one of our brainstorming sessions, I picked up one of Brendo's old books titled "Sick." After seeing this shot of Max Jenke and Devun Walsh completing a dollar sign over TJ Liese's tracks, we knew we had to make this shirt happen. It's too epic not to happen.
We had our doubts off the bat that we were gonna get a chance to talk to Justin. Like I said earlier, he's a very busy dude. Fortunately through a chain of friends of friends we were able to connect.
Justin sent us the actual photo used in "Sick" directly from his own archive. Judging by the marks on it, I think it was his only copy. Me and AK handled it like the Declaration of Independence. There was no way I was gonna eat spaghetti with that document on my desk. That's playing with fire.
